Ramadan plans: #RamadanReadathon and more.

Ramadan.jpg

It’s the best 30 days of the year again and I couldn’t be happier. If you don’t know what is Ramadan, I’ll tell you:

Ramadan is the time of the year when Muslims Fast from Dawn until Dusk. We don’t eat or drink and avoid doing forbidden things during this time.We also try to read the Quran and get closer to Allah by doing good things like giving money to poor people, Praying, attending mosques…etc

Here’s a thread which will help you understand it better.

But another thing that makes Ramadan special is the family gatherings, the sounds of mosques, the lights, and the decorations: (This pictures are from cn old street in cairo)

So Ya it’s a busy month, I help my mom, I go to Taraweeh….etc but I think that making some plans will push me to achieve some things and making a real change.

I promised myself to read some books by Muslim authors (I’m the worst coming for following the plans I put for myself) so now I’m getting my chance to actually follow this plan and support some Muslim authors.

Here are the links to Twitter & Instagram if you want to know more about the readathon.

Movies:

Let me tell you that I’m not very interested in watching movies / Tv shows in Ramadan ( despite binging Voltron the day I’m writing this post LOL) but there’re 2 movies I really want to watch during Ramadan:

1. Muhammed (Pbuh) the last prophet:

And finally the most important thing, The changings and the reflectings of the month.

I think it’s important for everyone of us to get time in the year when we make a change in our lives, During this time we need to see the bad things and the good things we do in our lives, Try to balance between everything we do (work/school, family, friends…etc) and Ramadan is the best time to do so, So here’s some general goals I want to achieve during Ramadan (It’s the 5th of Ramadan and I’m already failing):

1. spend less time on social media:

Let’s be real here social media is a good place but I spend so much time on Twitter and it’s not healthy. I can spend this time doing something useful like reading or learning crocheting …etc.

2. arranging my time:

listen I’m starting my final year of high school and I’ll be having a lot of classes and a lot to study for but also I want to arrange a time for reading because it’s something that definitely makes me relax. so in Ramadan, I want to learn how to use my time and how to balance everything in my life.

  1. Yesss! That’s so awesome that you included movies as well. Ramadan Mubarak!!! I’m also taking part in the RamadanReadaThon. I found out about it a bit late, but I still wanted to participate so I set myself a goal of reading at leats 3 books by Muslim authors during Ramadan. I’m currently on my second.

I’m new to blogging and book reviewing, and I was wondering if you had any tips for newbie bloggers and book reviewers.

If you have the time, please check out my blog @breenysbooks. I’d love any feedback. Have a wonderful day.
